World Superbike Champion 2014 Sylvain Guitoli and Marco Melandri Aprilia RSV4 Sylvain Guintoli
Guintoli, a rider with plenty of experience who races with number 50 on his fairing, was born in Montélimar in June 1982. He raced on an Aprilia in the World Motorcycle racing 250 class from 2001 to 2006. He also boasts two seasons in MotoGP (2007 and 2008).
He made his WSBK début in the last race of the 2009 season on the Portuguese track at Portimao. In his last four years of World Superbike he has taken a total of 26 podiums with five victories and three pole positions, always finishing the season in the top ten rider standings.
The 2013 season astride the Aprilia Racing Team RSV4 was the French rider's best one. It began with the win at the opening round of Phillip Island and continued with a series of placings that, despite a shoulder injury that affected his performance, allowed him to take third place in the final rider standings.
2014 is the golden year: Sylvain becomes Superbike World Champion at the last round, winning both races at Losail Gp.
